In honor of National Intern Day, we’re celebrating the Customer Care interns who have spent their summer learning our business, listening to our customers, and bringing fresh ideas to Carvana.
At Carvana, an internship is not about watching from the sidelines – it’s about getting in the game. This summer, our Customer Care interns worked alongside team Carvana to deliver incredible customer experiences and help us keep changing the way people buy and sell cars.
Behind the Customer Experience
Creating a seamless experience for customers depends on teams across Carvana working together. That can be difficult to fully understand from behind a desk.
That’s why our interns went into the field to see Carvana’s operations firsthand. They visited ADESA Phoenix, which is home to inspection and reconditioning operations and a wholesale auction, to understand how we source, recondition, and photograph cars. Then, they spent time with Carvana’s Market Operations and Fulfillment teams at our signature Car Vending Machine in Tempe. At headquarters, they got to know Customer Care and the technologies that connect our operations with the seamless Carvana website experience.
The takeaway was clear – the Carvana experience is a team effort.
Learning Directly From Customers
Our interns also spent time engaging directly with customers. They answered customers’ questions, helped them navigate different parts of the buying or selling process, and saw how important empathy, anticipation, and clear communication can be.
They also learned that we can always get better by listening closely to our customers as they go through the process first hand.
Putting Passion Into Action
Our Customer Care interns also came together for a Passion Project at Carvana’s Tempe headquarters benefitting children entering foster care.
In partnership with Foster Love, the team personalized colorful duffel bags and filled them with comforting items and everyday essentials. The “Sweet Cases” program is designed to give children a more personal, supportive way to carry their belongings during an especially difficult transition.
We’re grateful to our interns for helping put Carvana’s values into action in our community.
Celebrating Our Interns
Throughout the summer, our interns took on projects focused on real business opportunities, developed recommendations, and shared their thinking with Carvana leaders.
Their fresh ideas challenged assumptions and helped us see familiar ideas in new ways.
On National Intern Day, we’re proud to celebrate the curiosity, energy, and impact this group brought to Carvana. We’re excited to see where the road takes you next—and grateful Carvana could be part of your career journey.
